Learning unit contents

 

  • This course constitutes a general introduction to sociology. It adress few issues in contemporary sociology and main paradigms.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • discover sociological explanations of contemporary social issues
  • Introduction to sociological theory and main authors.
  • Positioning sociology within the social sciences.
  • Understand the main paradigms and their scientific status.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Good general culture and class attendance is highly recommended.
