Learning unit contents

This course concerns the psychobiological bases of social cognition and emotional and affective processes, including psychopathological disorders.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this course, the student will be able to summarize scientific papers about social and affective neurosciences, and to understand the neural bases of social cognition and affect.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Student will be perfom an oral presentation based on a paper given by the professors, and after that perform a report based on that paper.

Oral presentation and written work / report

Oral presentation (15 minutes), given in pairs, will be based on an article provided at the start of the course. Presentations will be organized by theme (6 to 7). A brief written report on the integration of the other presentations of the same theme in relation to the article presented is requested no later than 15 days after the presentation.

The final grade for the course is a weighting of the grades for the oral presentation, the report and the examination. However, even in the case of an average grade greater than or equal to 10, if the grade for the presentation or report is less than 8, these will have to be improved and resubmitted in the second session. A grade of 8 or 9 for the presentation or report may be compensated for by the other and by the examination.
