Learning unit contents
Higher Education Pedagogy is a pretty young field of research and action. Several associations try to impulse reflection and experience sharing between actors in this field. In Belgium, one of these associations is AIPU (Association Internationale de Pédagogie Universitaire), organizing experience sharing between teachers.
In order to open the students to those reflections and actions in higher education pedagogy, they will contribute to several actions of this association. They will concreterly organise an activity for Higher Education teachers.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course will mainly target the development of the second competence of the competence grid for the Liège University Master in educational sciences, competence slightly modified (by the lecturer) as follows :
"Run efficient activities or programs in education and training (they should answer the needs of the target public, offer them satisfaction and foster learning)
- mobilising scientific (pedagogical) and technological knowledge in coherence with the targeted contexts and publics ;
- making use of diverse tools, notably IT ;
- evaluating each trainees' progresses, using pertinent tools (adapted to contexts and publics) ;
- regulating the actions on the basis of observation and analysis data, exploited in a critical way ;
- adopting an ethical and responsible posture"
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Prerequisite/corequisite : either the PEDA4051 course or the PEDA4058 course.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
In small group(s) (depending on the number enrolled), the students will organize an AIPU "10-20-TRENTE" seminar (see the AIPU.be website). They will prepare the subject, then accompany the presenting teachers in their preparation, animate the 30 minutes of transfer activities and participate in the communication tasks around this seminar (web transmission and online announcements).
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Seminars and field activities.
Course materials and recommended or required readings
The aipu.be website will be used, as well as a space on the institutional platform. Optional readings will be presented at the beginning of the course.
Written work / report
Continuous assessment
Further information:
Participation in the training activities (accompanying the teachers and animating the 10-20-TRENTE) is mandatory in order to access evaluation for this course.
Through a written report (comprising important annexes tracking on-line documents and interactions) and thanks to the activities they've been involved in, the students will be asked to account for their actions as well as their learning. A specific training activity will help them build up that report.
In cohérence with the idea of continuous evaluation, some of the intermediate productions will be noted and taken into account in the final grade, together with the report.
Work placement(s)
Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
The activities will take place either in the B51 building, or online.
