Learning unit contents

How do we know what our trainees or students have learned ? Have they learned what had been announced ? Highlighting the achievements notably allows to valorize them, in order to boost the trainees' self-esteem but also to facilitate their learning or their professional reintegration.

This course takes place every year within an existing training project. In close collaboration with the researchers and trainers of this project, the students participate (as the case may be) in the construction of integrated assessment tasks and their testing, in facilitating some sessions of evaluation ("trace" seminars, for example, in the context of competency-based approaches), or in data collecting involving learners or teachers in the associative or school sectors.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course will essentially target the development of competency 3 of the ULiège Master's in Educational Sciences framework: through a rigorous scientific approach, produce relevant knowledge, concrete avenues for innovation, useful to actors in the field of Educational Sciences. This will be a production in the more specific field of competency-based approaches in higher education.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Models and analysis frameworks proposed in the "Partim 1" of this same course.

WARNING: as it involves collecting data in the field (questioning teachers or higher education students according to instructions provided in groups) and processing this data, this PARTIM 2 course is strongly discouraged for Bloc0 students.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Students will work individually or in small groups.

They will learn about the project, then participate in collecting data (often through interviews) from students or teachers who have experienced or organized an evaluation activity.

The interviews carried out by each student will be the subject of an individual analysis report. A collective report will be created by LabSET based on the individual reports. This common report will be used to regulate evaluation in the programs concerned.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Blended learning

Additional information:

Face-to-face seminars, online interviews and partial work from home. In the event of health measures limiting contact between people, the seminars will be organized synchronously remotely.

Course materials and recommended or required readings

To be precised at the beginning of the course.

Written work / report

Additional information:

Participation in the training activities is mandatory in order to access evaluation for this course.

This course will be subject to an individual grade. This grade will be agregatd from each person's individual analysis report as well as a self-critical report on the interviews conducted and a reflection on the development of the competence targeted by this course (competence nr 3 - see upper).

A specific seminar will prepare the students to compile their final report.
