Learning unit contents

The course is organized in conjunction with the internship YST0301 and aims to provide students with the necessary resources via three types of content: "professional didactics" anchors, "initial teacher training" anchors and modules preparing for support, and in particular for conducting reflective interviews.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The general objective of the course is to develop your skills and your professional identity as teacher trainers. More specifically, the course, followed by the internship, aims to broaden your skills in professional didactics, initial teacher training and reflective support.

 

Specific objectives of the course

The objective of the course is to enable you to master certain basics relating to teacher training, professional development and reflective support.

 

Specific objectives of the internship

The specific objective of this internship is to enable you to implement an approach to supporting future teachers during internships.

 

Overall, two key skills of the future teacher trainer are targeted:

  • promote in a future teacher an approach to analyzing their practices by mobilizing different resources to their advantage (data collection through observation and video, comparison of points of view in pairs and in a larger group (on return from the internship) and theoretical insight);
  • engage a future teacher in a process of awareness and change of their teaching practices.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The teacher training YSTG0301-3 - called "reflexive companion" is a co-requisite.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

  • Conferences;
  • Discussions about concepts and theoretical debates;
  • settings in situation preparing for the accompaniments : use of the video tool in building ( techniques, spirit and precautions); elaboration of observation tools ; documentary research and management of regulatory interviews;

The learning acquired during the course will be assessed by means of a written exam and written work using the skills developed during the sessions.

This course is closely related to the training course YSTG0301-3 focused on the practice of reflective support.

The course and didactical exercices are closely linked to this first training course :

  • Anticiaption and preparation of the tasks to carry out on the ground ;
  • conceptualization and theorizing.
