Learning unit contents
This course is an introduction to the basics of the Chinese language: pronunciation, character writing, common sentence patterns, general interrogative sentences and negative sentences. Over the course of the weeks, simple texts will be studied with some references to business Chinese and Chinese culture. Particular emphasis will be placed on pronunciation and dialogue.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course proposes a dissociation between oral and written learning. Oral learning will be faster than learning written language (characters). A minimum number of characters will have to be mastered (visual recognition and correct writing). The emphasis will be on proper pronunciation, respect for tone, dialogue construction and participation in class.
