Learning unit contents
This course is organized around thematic chapters related to professional life and aims at:
- touching topics such as job application, the job market as well as the work environment.
- developping skills such as expressing a preference/an opinion, comparing, but also describe and present the differents topics discussed in class through texts and videos.
- studying texts while progressively integrating more complex linguistic and grammatical structures
- reusing and consolidating vocabulary and language structures studied in the first year of the master while integrating business vocabulary.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Goal: reaching the A2+/B1 level of the CECRL
The course wil aim at providing students the 'global' tools to be able to speak and understand Dutch in various work situations (some ressembling the themes tackled in class but also new situations) in a professional context.
* This can only be achieved if students seize all the opportunities to improve.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Prerequisite: LANG1936-1 Néerlandais élementaire 1
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning ativities such as:
- roleplaying
- conversation,discussion and debates related to the documents analysed during the course
- reading and studying of texts
- listening comprehension of audio and video documents
- vocabulary assimilation
- grammar drills
- writing short texts (noet mandatory)

Face to face during the second semester (2h/week)
Attendance is highly recommanded. Students are expected to prepare activities and exercises on a weekly basis as indicated in the planning.

Final exam consisting of a(n):
- Written exam :
consisting of vocabulary exercises (chapters 1 to 3 + basic vocabulary) and grammar exercises, a listening exercise (unknown), a reading exercise and a writing exercise (about the content of the texts en audio/video materials).
- Oral exam :
about the 3 chapters: students will be expected to be able to discuss the texts and videos seen in class, answear questions about the content and express an argumented opinion.
IMPORTANT REMARKS
If a student gets a '0' or an 'A' (absent) for any assessment (written and oral exam in January an August), his final mark will automatically be '0' or 'A'.
Exam in august
Students who have to retake the exam in august/september automatically have to retake the vocabulary-grammar part.
They do not have to retake other parts of the evaluation they passed.
A specific document with all the informations about the exam will be posted on Lol@ for each exams period.
