Learning unit contents

This course deals with macroeconomic questions. It consists of two parts: (1) the Solow and Ramsey models, and the models of endogenous growth; and (2) the overlapping generations model and public policies of intergenerational transfers.

This course uses quantitative methods.

The level of this course is significantly higher than the average level of the courses offered in Master. This courses thus demands a regular effort.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objective of this course is to provide the students with a solid theoretical and empirical background of the quantitative macroeconomic analysis.
This course should be considered as a preparation for doctoral studies.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Undergraduate macroeconomics, microeconomics and mathematical and statistical methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Exercises, presentations of scientific papers and empirical tutorials.
