Learning unit contents
The various activities constituting this course aim to support students in a reflective practice on the profession of speech and language pathologist.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The planned teaching activities will allow students :
1) to discover the range of occupational realities;
2) to discover the range of professional skills;
3) to cdevelop their own representation of the scope of work in speech and language therapy;
4) To identify the principles and usefulness of a reflection-based process.

Different work-based conferences will be organized: speech and language therapists will explain their career paths and professional experience. You will be requested to prepare these conferences and engage in discussions with these professionals.

Face-to-face, supplemented with a web space (eCampus) for communication, information sharing and handing in the reports.

The evaluation will be based on a written individual reflexive synthesis in which, you write down your reflections with regard to the speech and language therapist. The quality requirements for this report will be explained during the course.
Remark concerning spelling: command of the French language is one of the basic competences in order to work as a speech & language therapist. As such, if the file handed in contains more than 3 spelling mistakes (usage and/or agreements) during the first exam session, students will receive a fail for the first exam session and they will have to submit it again during the second exam session. If the file is handed in during the second session and contains more than 3 spelling mistakes, two points will be deducted from the student's course mark.
Remark concerning the deadline for the report: students must respect the deadline for handing in the file. If a file is handed in late during the first exam session, students will receive a fail and will have to hand it in during the second exam session. If the file is handed in late during the second exam session, two points will be deducted from the course mark.
