Learning unit contents

The course includes face-to-face theory courses, online practicals, seminars and field trips.



Ruminant and monogastric livestock farming are described in such a way as to give students the basic concepts they need to understand current production methods. :

- production cycle

- animal performance

- management of slurry and manure

Organic farming and agroforestry will be envisaged.


 

 

 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objective is to give a general wiew of animal production. The objective is not to form specialists but to provide general information on animal production allowing to the students to understand ways of breeding in our country.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

A portion of the basic concepts of animal production will be delivered through theoretical courses in face-to-face teaching.

The students will participate in a field seminar day, consisting of various workshops led by specialists.

There are Online practical work.

Two farm visits are planned as practical activities. Depending on availability, they will focus on cattle and pig farming.

Students who are absent from the field sessions, practical work, or who have not completed the online practical work will receive an exclusion grade and will not be able to take the exam in the first session

This is a written exam with open questions wieht short, medium and long answer, multiple-choice questions and/or multiple-response questions, representing the subjects covered in theoretical courses, online courses, practical and field activities.
