This course aims to develop the four linguistic skills, namely:
- oral expression
- written expression
- aural comprehension
- reading comprehension

This course aims to develop the four linguistic skills, namely:
- oral expression
- written expression
- listening comprehension
- reading comprehension (text analysis)
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- To be able to reproduce an orally coherent and syntactically correct text
- To be able of producing a narrative or argumentative text which is grammatically correct
Linguistics I
To recognize different systems of the Spanish language: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax.
Explain the most relevant phenomena by providing explanatory theories.
Know and be able to use a series of linguistic resources available to students and researchers of the Spanish language.

- To be able to reproduce an orally coherent and syntactically correct text (of medium difficulty)
- To be able of producing an argumentative text which is grammatically correct (of medium difficulty)

To have a basic understanding of both written and oral forms of the language and to know the grammatical foundations of the language.

- The method used is both active requiring students' constant participation, practising comprehension (reading, listening) and expression (written and oral).

. Written preparation of texts at home (to summariz the text, to answer questions, study specific vocabulary).
. Putting knowledge into practice.
. The method used is both active requiring students' constant participation, practising comprehension (reading, listening) and expression (written and oral).
. Use the grammatical rules and vocabulary of all the texts covered in the classroom to produce fluent, correct texts.

Two hours of classes face-to-face a week throughout the first four months. .

This teaching unit ("Unité d'enseignement," or UE) is subject to the principle of the "note absorbante," which means that the student having obtained a mark below 8/20 for one of the learning activities ("activités d'apprentissage," or AA) will receive a failing grade for the entire unit and will have to retake the failed AA in the second session regardless of the mathematical average of the two AA grades.
