Learning unit contents

This course will be organised in 2019-2020, 2021-2022. The objective of this cours consists in analyzing the role of the nuclear power in the international relations to show the evolutionary process and the new stakes bound to the nuclear weapon in the new international context. We are going to study first of all the concepts, in particular the dissuasive concept, and the doctrines which contributed to the emergence of the nuclear factor on the international political scene.Then, we will do a comparative study of the nuclear doctrines of the emergent powers possessing the nuclear weapon. In this part, the role of the TNP will be dicussed. Finally, we shall analyze the main stakes of the nuclear proliferation in the region of the Middle East.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Give to students an analytical capacity to understand the role of the nuclear proliferation in the evolution of the international relations in the Middel East.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The students have to now the theories of the international relations and the history of the cold war.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

This course includes a theoretical part presented by the holder and a part based on the presentation of the students.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

The active participation of the students in the course is necessary.
