Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objective of the course is to:

- Present an overview of the main aproaches and methods used to evaluate public health programmes
- Propose a comprehensive conceptual, theoretical and methodological framework enabling students to:

  • Understand the principles and basic elements favouring quality evaluations; and
  • Use such evaluations to improve the critical analysis of interventions in which they are involved

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Students must be able to apply the knowledge acquired in courses on quantitative, qualitative and economic methods and in the organisation of healthcare systems.

The courses will be based on theoretical presentations, encouraging everyone to participate, on reading and case studies
