Learning unit contents
Description of the teaching unit:
This course is designed to help the student define a dissertation project.
Table of contents:
- The different types of dissertation (including action research);
- The state of the art - Introduction to documentary research;
- Defining a problematic and a research question;
- Methodological aspects
- Defining a plan;
- Practice: Drafting the dissertation project.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able...
- develop a research problem and a research question (or an action project, in the framework of an action research);
- define the state of the art and show how the question addressed (or the action-research project) is relevant to it;
- develop a relevant and realistic methodology for addressing the issue (or conducting the project, in the case of action research);
- define the plan and structure of the master thesis.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Pre-requisite: Block 1 course.

The evaluation of the course will be based on an individual assignment in which the student will detail his/her master thesis project (type of master thesis, problematic and research question/action research project, state of the art, method, plan).
