Learning unit contents

This class provides training in clinical intervention methods based on various neurophysiological measures such as electrical and magnetic transcranial stimulation (tDCS, TMS), evoked potentials and neurofeedback. This classes further trains the student in cognitive and language assessment protocols used in the context of awake neurosurgical interventions or in severly brain injured patients (coma). The course will also familiarize the student with the integration of functional and structural neuroimaging data into the assessment and interpretation of cognitive and affective disorders.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Usage of various neurophysiological techniques for clinical purposes (diagnosos - therapy)

Familiarization with the behavioral assessment protocols for awake neurosurgery and for patients in a comatose or post-comatose state

Identification of various functional and structural neuroimaging data and their integration in diagnosis and treatement of various disorders
