Learning unit contents
The course includes an internship in the second year, designed to give students hands-on experience of a specific field of investigation. This placement will be designed as a project, carried out individually or collectively, and will involve a number of different practices:
- choosing a field of investigation on the basis of requests made by the partners (suggestions will be made during the induction session) ;
- an analysis of the request and its context, leading to the (re)formulation of a problem to be addressed;
- taking the initiative, from mobilising theoretical frameworks to gathering and synthesising information of all kinds;
- monitoring of the process in the form of an investigation logbook, which records the working hypotheses, reformulations of the project and partial results - this logbook will document the placement report, which will be the subject of the project evaluation by the supervisory team;
- feedback to the partner, in a format freely chosen from as wide a range as possible, and tailored to the project's objectives and specific context (brochure, website, poster, video clip, creative writing, workshop leader, exhibition, etc.).

The assessment will be based on an individual or group placement report, accompanied by the logbook.
The report will be around fifteen pages long and will follow the following outline:
- a general title given to the project
- a presentation of the host organisation
- a restatement of the request and the objectives of the survey
- a chronological presentation of the steps taken
- an explanation of the results of the study, possibly accompanied by documentary appendices (brochure, exhibition catalogue, audio or video clip, etc.)
- a more reflective section, setting out the difficulties encountered and the benefits of the placement for both the host organisation and the trainees.
The precise expectations for the feedback to the partner will be established in consultation with the partner, who will be consulted by the supervisory team at the time of the assessment.
