Learning unit contents
The "Seminars and Conferences" course aims to raise students' awareness of recent advances and contemporary issues in clinical epidemiology and health economics. Students are required to attend at least five seminars or conferences, selected from a list proposed by the university or recognized scientific events in these fields. Each session will help develop their understanding of current research methodologies, emerging trends, and practical challenges related to applying research in healthcare systems.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Critically synthesize the information and knowledge presented in the seminars or conferences.
- Identify the practical implications of the concepts and methodologies discussed during the conferences for research and practice in clinical epidemiology and health economics.
- Develop critical analysis skills for scientific presentations, identifying their strengths, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in constructive discussions on the topics covered, drawing on the knowledge gained from the attended conferences.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- Mandatory attendance at a minimum of five seminars or conferences throughout the semester.
