Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
This course is a continuation of the MATH0511 course on harmonic analysis. For example, the following classic topics might be covered:
- Construction of wavelets from a filter
- The windowed Fourier transform and the Balian-Low theorem
- Wavelets as unconditional bases of functional spaces
- Characterization of functional spaces via wavelet coefficients
- Study of global and pointwise regularity
- Frames
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The objective is to use and apply wavelet theory within the framework of functional analysis.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A good understanding of various analysis courses, especially the harmonic analysis course MATH0511, is essential.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The teaching methods (in-person or remote, flipped classroom or not) will be determined at the beginning of the year in consultation with the students.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Blended learning
