This course presents a general introduction to the Civilization of Ancient India, from the Indus civilisation to the beginning of the moslem expansion.
The main themes are:
- the different periods of political History.
- rise and expansion of the sanskrit civilization. The main literary productions.
- the religious debates.
- the social organization.

The course intends to give a panoramic introduction to the genesis of the Indian classical civilisation.
