Learning unit contents
This class will focus on the work of Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Best known for her best-selling novel Americanah (2013) and for her popular TED talks ("The Danger of a Single Story" and "We Should All Be Feminists"), Adichie's oeuvre stands out on the contemporary literary scene for its sensitive and thought-provoking exploration of themes such as conflict, power, religion, human relationships, and movement.
Following a brief introduction to Adichie's work, the course will consist in analysing some of the author's short stories, novels, and talks/essays, as well as selected appearances in the media.
