Learning unit contents

This course aims to develop the students' skills in scientific seminars (namely their note-taking and responding ability in lectures in the field of biomedical sciences). 

It is an advanced ESP course (CEFR) levels C1 for listening and note-taking skills

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The purpose of this course is to teach the students how to take notes efficiently during a scientific lecture in English in order to
(1) be able to answer accurate questions 
(2) be able to write an abstract of the seminar
(3) Ask questions      

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Pré-requis:

LANG6002-1: Advanced English for Biomedical Research : Writing (anglais)
LANG6003-1: Advanced English for Biomedical Research: Speaking (anglais)
 

IELTS 6 or Cambridge Advanced English A- C, or equivalent

(1) Large group seminar for writting and listening skills

(2) Online seminar for writting and listening skills

The course is comprised of 6 large group seminars and 8 online seminars.

Online Seminars are mandatory. If you do not participate to the online seminars, - 2 points will be apply to the final score.
