Learning unit contents

Mobilize the concepts of health determinants in patient's care at different stages of his life.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the student presents a written work in which he:
* Transfers the concepts of health determinants to concrete projects (in terms of health promotion) for the benefit of the beneficiary's specific health and care;
* Explains the determinants of health with regard to the situation of a beneficiary or a group of beneficiaries;
* Identifies community needs, resources;
* Integrates and proposes, when planning the intervention, actions that mobilize the resources of the beneficiary(ies) with regard to the institutional and philosophical contexts of the institution in which the interventions take place;
* Demonstrates his ability to be a resource person for other professionals;
* Makes a holistic clinical judgment, from a nursing perspective, based on research results and referring to colleagues from all disciplines related to the care situation and the clinical expertise of the interprofessional team;
* Establishes links between the 2 courses within the same treatment;
* Integrates the notions of environmental health into the project presented;
* Experiences the reflexivity necessary to position themselves as a future health professional;
* Confronts his representations with the concepts seen in class;
* Promotes equity and social justice;
* Uses concise, reasoned and fluent professional language to explain his situation.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The master 1 's course : "Health promotion and disease prevention - interdisciplinary approach" serves as a working basis.

Environmental health section - disease prevention:

  • Environmental health and indoor air pollution
  • Toxicology of cosmetics and pollution of everyday life
  • Climate change and health

  • Part Determinants of Health:
    The determinants of health with regard to the stages of life:
    a.Early childhood
    b. School life
    c.Health at work
    d. Health of the elderly - aging
    e. Socio-economic characteristics
    f. Health systems
Other sectors could be used depending on the number of students

This is a written assignment to be submitted during the January session.

This writing must complete the Health Promotion approach developed during the Master 1 and define possible improvements in terms of environmental health.
