Learning unit contents

The aim of this course is to trace the evolution of contemporary public art, tackling such fundamental questions as:

- The notions of commission and integration;

- The relationship between art and politics;

- The role of institutions (e.g. the Musée en plein air du Sart Tilman);

- Current urban art practices (street art);

- Artistic controversies (censorship, iconoclasm, vandalism).

This course draws on the expertise and research fields of the professor, but also on the skills of outside lecturers.
