This course aims to study the major criminological theories, and to underline the potential use of theses theories in various empirical researches.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

- Learn the different major theories in Criminology
- Be able to stress links and interactions between those theories
- Have specific knowledge about different forms of rime

The course "Introduction à l'analyse du phénomène criminel" is a prerequisite or a co-requisite.

First session: written examen. 

Open-ended questions and TRUE/FALSE items. 

The exam aims at determining the students' capacity to demonstrate their mastering of criminological theories exposed during the course. But the exam also aims at evaluating the students' competencies to "problematize a particular topic/question. 

In case of second session, this is an oral exam. 

For both sessions, the texte portfolio is part of the game!
