Description of the teaching unit

This teaching unit aims to equip the student for the preparation of his master thesis.

1. What Does it Mean to Do Research in Digital Media Education?

2. Defining a research problem/question

3. Building a literature review

4. Choosing a method.

5. Defining an action plan

6. Writing the research/The researcher's position in relation to his object.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this teaching unit, the student will be able to

- identify precisely the topic of his or her master's thesis, and to problematize it on the basis of a relevant literature review;

- formulate a research question and initial working hypotheses

- define the materials necessary for his/her investigation as well as a method to answer, through their analysis, the research question;

- write in clear scientific language.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Prerequisites: disciplinary knowledge. Co-requisites: master courses (block 1).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Ex-catheadra lecture and note taking by the student. Readings, exercises, progressive personal work on the basis of work instructions. Visuals and readings available on eCampus.
