Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course offers an in-depth immersion in the fundamentals of journalistic writing. It is aimed at students wishing to master the techniques needed to produce quality articles, while adapting to the requirements of different media. The classic rules of journalistic writing will be approached, analyzed and put into practice: style, tone, building an angle, the "5W" method, structuring an article (headline, caption, attack, punchline...), and so on. At the same time, we'll delve into the study of the main journalistic genres, each with its own specificities and writing techniques. You'll learn how to write
- a report of an event, taking care to faithfully convey the facts while prioritizing information;
- an interview, by preparing questions, managing dialogue and transcribing;
- a field report, where you will develop your narrative skills to immerse the reader in a scene or event by combining facts, descriptions and emotions.
The course will use practical exercises and analysis of a variety of journalistic texts to develop your ability to write for different media.
