The course focuses on the practice of communication in public health; based on communication concepts and theoritical models, it presents the use of communication strategies to inform, raise awareness and influence individual and collective health choices

- Communication. Conceptual bases
- Communication and behavior change
- Communication strategies and methodological proposals
- Particular contexts in public health communication: risk communication, crisis communication, acceptability communication
- Communication tools
- Evaluation in public health communication
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
After the completion of the course, the students should be able to:
- master the basic concepts of communication and their incidence in the processes of communication in public health
- identify issues of communication in various public health contexts
- demonstrate understanding of ethical values central to publc health communication
- apply methods and tools appropriate to different contexts and audiences
- plan a public health communication initiative
- evaluate communication strategies and programs in public health

- class teaching with power point support
- 3 group works : 4 students groups (preferably to modify for each work); these works will be initiated during the courses and supervised during their realisation by email exchanges + videoconference; one work will concern the design of a communication approach in a specific context of public health (communication plan)
