  • Introduction to the history of public health
  • Monitoring and analysis of the health situation
  • Epidemiological surveillance/disease prevention and control
  • Policy-making and planning in the field of public health
  • Strategic management of health systems and services to improve population health
  • Regulation and enforcement to protect public health
  • Development and planning of public health human resources
  • Health promotion, citizen participation and control
  • Quality assurance of health services for people 4 and the general population.
  • Research, development and implementation of innovative public health solutions.

  • Acquire basic notions of public health.

  • Understand the evolution of health and public health concepts, and critically evaluate different definitions of health and public health.
  • Describe, recognize and illustrate the essential functions of public health.
