- Policy-making and planning in the field of public health
- Strategic management of health systems and services to improve population health
- Regulation and enforcement to protect public health
- Development and planning of public health human resources
- Health promotion, citizen participation and control
- Quality assurance of health services for people 4 and the general population.
- Research, development and implementation of innovative public health solutions.

General objectives
- Acquire basic notions of public health.
- Understand the evolution of health and public health concepts, and critically evaluate different definitions of health and public health.
