Learning unit contents
This seminar is designed to focus on the 'Expertise' competence of the speech & language therapy competency framework (teachers in charge: Nancy Durieux & Christelle Maillart). In this part, students who were already acquainted with the evidence-based approach in Y1 of the master's degree, will extend their training in this approach by examining the issue of clinical guidelines.
Overall, the seminar is a place of learning that encourages the development of reflexiveness and the decompartmentalisation of the field of action in speech & language therapy, by proposing shared moments of reflection on an identified problem. It is an integrative learning mechanism designed to help students to put into perspective their clinical experiences from their placement.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the 'EBP' part, students will be able to:
- Formulate a clinical question;
- Familiarise themselves with the patient's preferences;
- Find the relevant guidelines based on a clinical situation;
- Critically assess the selected clinical guidelines.
