* Further study of the vocabulary & exploitation of the contents of texts; lexical and grammatical exercises; speaking and writing exercises

* Oral presentations

Learning outcomes of the learning unit
* This course develops basic language skills, especially the mastery of oral and written Dutch from both the passive and active points of view.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Level A2+ (as taught in LANG8020/LANG8021) is recommended.
Evening courses (see ISLV) or online courses (@LTER).
All students are automatically enrolled in the iWeG (Interactieve Woordenschat en Grammatica) course on eCampus. These online modules are a valuable addition to the course and allow students to practice at their own pace.

All documents handed out in class will be available online on eCampus, or sent by email.
It is also up to the students to expose themselves to the languages you study as much and as often as possible, so not only by attending your course sessions but also by other means.

Oral and written exam at the end of the year.
Vocabulary (Basiswoordenschat) tests durint first and second semester. Failed vocabulary tests need to be retaken in June (dedicated part of the written exam).
The written exam will be composed of grammar and (basic/specialized) vocabulary exercises, as well as reading, listening and writing exercises.
The oral exam will be about several articles from Dutch-language newspapers.
There are also mandatory oral presentations.
The written and oral exams in June are two inseparable parts.

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
Class activities may depend on the total number of students enrolled for LANG9021.
Classwork accounts for 20% of the final grade. Classwork results will be taken into account for the first AND second session.
Participating in the course and attending classes with a hard copy of the syllabus are vital to the learning process.
