Learning unit contents
The course deals with restructuring and reorganization of distressed businesses through three insolvency procedures : bankruptcy, restructuring procedure and winding-up of companies.
These procedures are studied through practical questions (what is the best way to sell the business? what are the protections of the creditors? what is the impact of the insolvency procedures on pending proceedings? and so on), in order to stress their similarities and differences.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The purpose of this course is to introduce the students to the pratice of business restructuring and reorganization, by showing them how to use the existing procedures as tools to solve concrete problems.
