Learning outcomes

Module 1 - Strategic Assessment

Be able to write a report to convince management that "business as usual' is no longer an option based on

1- External Analysis

  • Environmental analyses, with focus on disruptors (trends and players/PESTEL)
  • The insurance industry in Luxembourg (5 Forces model)
  • The ecosystem's network environment, highlighting the various flows (i.e. data, physical assets, money) between main stakeholders

2- Internal Analysis

  • Brief history and general presentation / key figures about the company
  • Strategic segmentation
  • End-to-end view of one specific key business process
  • Network analysis to identify maturity and areas for improvement (Network Asset Inventory)

3- A conclusion with major key takeaways (i.e. SWOT) and key argumentations to convince management that "business as usual" is no longer an option

 

Module 2 - Innovation

  • Defining innovation and its different types
  • Understanding diruptive innovation and the innovator's dilemma
  • Understand how to respond to disruptions and provide a solution to the innovation dilemma
  • Understand the entrepreneurial mindset and build a toolbox for successful disruptive innovation projects by learning about Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Business Model Innovation processes.

Module 3 - Ideation

  • Ability to use an ideation method to identify alternative innovation projects
  • High level examination of feasibility of potential projects
  • Building and delivering a pich for investors and other decision makers synthesising the main elements of the proposal

Module 4 - Designing a Minimum Viable business Plan

  • Taking a multidisciplinary approach to comprehensively assess feasibility and viability of a project
  • Developing a feasibility analysis into an action plan
  • Writing and presenting a business plan to decision makers for the commitment of resources for implementation
