MODULE 4: Evaluation of the trainee during the year of supervised practice

This module aims to facilitate the transition from the master's degree to the year of supervised practice (for the psychology or clinical orthopedagogy trainee and the practicum supervisor), knowing that not all psychologists and orthopedagogues in the year of clinical practice will have developed the same levels of clinical skills, despite a common background from the master's degree in psychology or orthopedagogy. In particular, the module will allow the training supervisor to encourage the trainee's self-regulation in his or her training process, through moments of targeted exchanges on the specific aspects to be improved by the trainee.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • To align the learning outcomes of the trainee's competency framework in clinical psychology or orthopedagogy (CR), his or her course and the competency framework to which he or she must subscribe.
  • Identify the learning outcomes mastered or not by the trainee.
  • To ensure a formative evaluation of the trainee, through several feedback moments during the year of supervised practice;
  • Organize trainee self-assessments. These are subjective, but can be quantified via a mathematical formula that calculates the learning gain.
  • Implement a procedure for managing critical incidents that may require termination of the internship
