Learning unit contents
This learning unit is designed for students who want to complement their programme with elements accessible out of the local academic framework. In particular, it consists of an opportunity to credit the participation to external activities, provided it is consistent with the Professional focus of the Master in Space Sciences.
This external activity can for instance consist of:
- a practical activity organized as a follow-up of another course of the Professional focus
- the participation in a conference or congress about a thematic approved by the titular
- the participation in course series organized by the European Space Agency
- a brief internship in a professional context different from that of the mandatory internship and from that of the Master thesis
- ...
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The learning outcomes targetted by this learning unit consist in:
- enhancing of the practical dimension of the education programme.
- getting familiar with an environment different from the classical academic framework.
- developing the contact of students with professionals to stimulate their employment prospects.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The learning activities depend on the content of the internship, defined in consultation with the coordinator.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
This learning unit relies on the active participation of the student in activities with the agreement of the titular. The Agreement between the student and the titular is defined in advance and the student must comply with it. The active presence of the student is mandatory for all activities included in the Agreement.

Additional information:
The evaluation relies on three elements:
- A declaration of intent presented as a text of 800-1000 words: 15%
- A report of about 5000-6000 words transmitted to the titular, complying with the content of the Agreement: 60%
- An oral presentation of 20 minutes (followed by a short discussion) allowing the student to valorize some aspects of her/his work: 25%

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
The student is supposed, along the academic year, to
- propose an activity to be valorized in the framework of this learning activity,
- assess the feasibility,
- find an alternative in case the primary activity is compromised,
- prepare the declaration of intent once the activity is defined,
- comply with the organizational constraints of the place hosting the activity,
- write the activity report, and transmit it to the titular,
- prepare the oral presentation,
- finally, present and defend orally the work.
