Learning unit contents
1) Political systems
- Belgium: politica system, institutions, competences, orgaization of the State, political landscape
- European Union: main institutions (Parliament, Council, Commission)
2) Framing
- Definition of a public policy
- Roles and interventions of actors
- Sequencing and instruments of a public policy
- Innovation in the elaboration of public policies: citizen participation, co-creation, prospective and evaluation process, evolution of the role of politics
3) Development of public policies: case studies of European and/or regional policies: CAP, climate policy, local food systems

- Gain an overview of the institutions and frameworks for public policy making and decision making.
- Understand the power relations between actors
- Understand the issues and mechanismes of public decision-making in complex, multi-actor and multi-levels environments
