Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

To complete their training in communications on a professional level and to allow them to personalise their studies, every student is required to do a 120-hour placement in the internal or external communications department (public relations, press service, etc.) of a national and/or international economic institution (company, chamber of commerce, professional organisation, etc.) or a player in the non-market sector (NGO, union, etc.).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The placement has several objectives: firstly, to confront students and the theory they have learnt with the realities on the ground, by immersing them in the daily world of communications; secondly, to allow students to add the finishing touches to their training through the contact they have with the communications professionals supporting them; finally, to give students the chance to demonstrate their skills by producing their own work. It should also be emphasised that the placement offers students the possibility of choosing a place where they can tackle issues that could be the subject of their dissertation.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

- Master the various registers used when writing communications material;  - demonstrate an interest in communications' practices and professions;  - have good knowledge of the host institution.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

During the placement, students will demonstrate their know-how by producing their own pieces of work. They will also have to write a placement report and attach a copy of their own work.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Duration (120 hours): one month to be agreed with the host institution.
