Learning unit contents

Theory (lectures) : 20h

Labs and training: 15h

This course is oriented to students in Physics with the aim to go deeper in one of the important chapter of their education program: optics

We'll bring additional knowledge in geometrical optics as well as physics optics (mainly wave-optics). It also requires to study the basic of electromagnetism.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The goal of the course is to procure a solid basic in geometrical optics, insisting on the material properties and the applications.
Next, the physics optics develops the principle of light-matter interactions, interference, and diffraction.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Physics and Mathematics learned during 1st Bachelor and Q1 of 2nd Bachelor

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
