Learning unit contents

  • Description of the mechanisms that explain the different climates on a global and regional scale,
  • Characterisation of the major types of climate on Earth,
  • Description and analysis of the causes of past and present climate change.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • Identify and understand the basic mechanisms responsibles of main climatic processes at local and global scales,
  • Describe the main types of climates
  • Understand the causes of climate change and its impact on vegetal and human environment,
  • Be able to extract the relevant information from a scientific document (texts, tables, graphs) in order to answer the questions posed by climate change.
