Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course is focused on the modelling of atomic structures from the simplest ones (with one electron) to complex systems (with N electrons). It is divided as follows :

I. Introduction
II. Atoms with one electron
III. Structure of alkali atoms
IV. Fine structure
V. Designation of atomic energy levels
VI. Atoms with two electrons
VII. Complex atoms

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, students will be able to use quantum physics concepts to model atomic structures.
