Learning unit contents
The purpose of this course is to show the interest of the analytical methods for the caracterisation of cultural heritage objects. The main technqiues used will be explained: optical (IR, visble, UV), X-rays (fluorescnece, radiography) and particles (ion beam analysis, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy). Case studies in the different fields will be explaines (pigment, metal, glass,...).

Introduction to the main analytical tehniques used in the study of cultural heritage objects.

The theory is taught face-to-face. Laboratory visits and demonstrations are organized.
