Learning unit contents
The first part of the course is devoted to the questions raised by the notion of a 'scientific revolution'. The rest of the course which is essentially devoted to the philosophy of physics has to do with the notions of time, body, space and motion.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To understand how scientifical problematics and philosophical questions can intercross and be mutually transformed.
To be aware of the interest and vitality of research in the philosophy of sciences by the thorough enquiry into some particular questions.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The course "Introduction à la philosophie des sciences" (BAC2) is a useful but not essential prerequisite. Understanding of this course is made easier by a good command of physics and mathematics at secondary school level.
