Sociopolitical questions in higher education. Topics may change from year to year according to the news agenda, to new ressources and tools.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course has two purposes:
- to trigger participants' reflection on sociopolitical issues of importance for higher education;
- to invite participants to use some digital information and communication technologies in order to express and share their thoughts on these issues.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Organized around a bunch of digital resources (scientific articles, news articles, online conferences, blogs, digital apps) and around structured inquiries and reflection, the course invites participants to take a personal and critical stance upon several dynamics and challenges which are currently transforming higher education in Belgium, in Europe and worldwide.

This course is organized fully online.

The course takes fully place at a distance. It fosters individual reflection and interactions with peers and trainers. The completion of the requested activities along with the active participation to the collective debate form the evaluation criteria of the success in the course.

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
This course is organized through the first semester. It is to be noted that this course is only provided in English in the context of the two mentionned curriculums (compulsory for Capaes and as an option for formasup) and if a sufficient number of students are enrolled.
