Learning unit contents
Courses dedicated to diseases of the kidneys during the 1st part of the Master of Medicine are mainly focussed on medical (but not surgical which are discussed during the second part in the Urology course) problems.
The oral courses will described the main clinical and therapeutic aspects of the most frequent kidney diseases which can develop in children and/or adults (glomerular, vascular, interstitial, tubular diseases, inherited or acquired). Main aspects about acute and chonic renal insufficiency, dialysis and transplantation are also detailed. Semiology of these pathologies is reviewed
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To be able to identify patients at risk or already affected by a kidney disease, to characterize the type of the disease (glomerular, vascular, interstial tubular), to be able to identify .....

Co and pre-requisites are detailed in the general Master Medical formation (global course program).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This module is multidisciplinary and consists of lectures, supplemented by several sessions of practical activities. Clinical formations are included in another course code and complete the diagnosis learning by a patient-centered approach.
