Learning unit contents
The objective of this course arises from the observation of the need to introduce students to the economic specificities of the cultural and musical world so that they possess a set of keys to best navigate the professional sector. It addresses each of the key players in the music economy in a scheme that goes from artistic creation to the consumption of the artistic product.
Topics covered:
- Managing music: historical introduction
(Musicians' careers, modes of production, distribution conditions, consumption, support). - Music in 2024: individual careers and private or public organizations, from local to global
- From recording to streaming platform
- Music and artificial intelligence
- Music and law
- Music and ecology
- Cultural and creative industries
- The economy of music versus the administration of music
