Learning unit contents

The practice course consists of either:

- setting up a personal project for the trainee ;

- or the completion of a Service Learning-type placement as part of the institutional teaching programme.

Service learning pursues an overall objective of learning through experience of services to society.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this placement, students will be able to :

- successfully complete a project, whether personal or as part of a team;

- meet deadlines;

- collaborate and integrate within a team (peers and/or host environment);

- identify the difficulties in implementing the project;

- take into account the needs of stakeholders;

- take a metacognitive look at what they have learned.

 

The service learning modality is associated with complementary objectives:

- developing empathy ;

- to become aware of the needs and difficulties of a particular audience in terms of health;

- deepen understanding of the social role that pharmacists can play on the front line.

 

Finally, there are objectives specific to the 3 themes offered in Service learning:

'Health education:

- Passing on and popularising knowledge in the field of health

- Prevent a particular risk through education

- Deepening your understanding of the concept of health literacy

'Chronic patient/disability:

- Reflect on the concepts of health, illness and disability

- Reflect on the carer-patient relationship

- Understand the day-to-day difficulties faced by chronic patients/disabled people

- Discover a particular aspect of the healthcare system, and learn more about its inner workings

- Benefit from the experience of patients to gain a deeper understanding of a disease/disability

'Interculturality:

- Take part in intercultural mediation in healthcare, drawing on your knowledge of the health sector

- Understand the workings of the humanitarian sector

- Reflect on the notion of helping people from different cultures

Internship at an internship site or development of an initiative to be tested in a pharmacy or analysis of a research question

Attendance at support seminars required

Internship evaluated by the internship supervisor according to the criterium grid specific to all Q9 interns.

The written production associated with the placement is the subject of another teaching unit.
