Learning unit contents

The course systematically presents concepts of grammatical analysis and apply them to the French language by the means, a.o., of tree-like diagrams.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, students will have the following abilities:



  • ability to analyse any French sentence that is not especially problematic using grammatical analysis;
  • ability to express such an analysis by the means of conventional diagrams;
  • knowledge of the main structural issues in the description of French.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Very good proficiency in French language (C1).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Magistral teaching and discussions. 
Additional practical sessions with a tutor.
