Learning unit contents
The course theme is likely to change from year to year. This year, the course will largely deal with the characteristics of adult dyslexia. After reviewing the main lines of the classic theories concerning childhood dyslexia, including how to assess and manage it, the course will address the particularities of dyslexia in adults, the tools available to assess it and the scarce data available on the effectiveness of interventions carried out in adults. The course will also return to issues that have been less addressed in courses on dyslexia such as executive functioning in dyslexics, optometric disorders, the impact of dyslexia on people's mental health, the effectiveness of treatments based on visual training, of training based on electronic games, using virtual reality, music, etc.
