An introduction to what the world's languages have in common and in what aspects they can differ as well as to the main principles underlying language.
Tools applied to exercises and potentially to be used to a grammatical phenomenon of the student's choice.

Mastering the theoretical notions and the methods of analysis and being able to apply them in order to solve concrete problems.

Additional information:
Written exam measuring the understanding of key theoretical concepts as well as the students' ability to apply these to concrete cases. A final may also be asked at the end of the course.
