Discussion of canonical and/or representative texts, chosen from the history of literairy theory and criticism.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Introducing the students to the diverse reality of theoretical texts produced by the discipline.
Familiarizing the students with the various theoretical approaches available, with a view to a later operationalization (master courses, master's thesis,...).
Developing the students' capacities to conduct a methodological reflexion.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Disposing of a sufficient command of English and French for reading theoretical texts.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Individual presentations and collective discussions of texts from a list drawn up by the lecturer.
