Learning unit contents

The Genres of American Popular Culture

This seminar will be organized around a series of sessions centered on specific genres across selected popular media, including literature, film and television. The class will highlight their importance in the cultural history of the United States and reveal their explicit and implicit meanings with the help of critical and theoretical essays. Topics and works will include science fiction, film noir, comedy, cartoons and TV series.
